The School teaches ballet and caters for children from the age of 2½ up to 18 and beyond. Classes for children of pre-school age are geared to be imaginative with creative storylines as they are introduced to the basics in a structured and fun environment.
Children will gain poise, musical awareness and confidence. Emphasis is given to improving their co-ordination, strength and flexibility. Children are taught in groups depending on age and ability using the Royal Academy of Dance syllabus. Class sizes ensure that children receive individual attention.
The School was started by Marjorie Barton and later taken over by Kathleen Maroney who taught Eleonora ballet when she was a child. After running the School for many years, Miss Maroney retired in 1985, and the Eleonora Dance Studios was formed ensuring the continuity of the ballet school.
